Business Development Manager

As we expand our geographic reach beyond our current twelve showrooms, we will also continue to build our core Executive & Management team.  As the Business Development Manager, you will play a vital role within our marketing team and will work directly with our CEO to identify, manage and own all strategic planning, external outreach and partnerships with organizations and industries that will aid in our company’s success by building our customer base and generating sales.  We are looking for someone who is always driving to make the sale while continuing to build that relationship.  

It’s essential that the Business Development Manager have strong existing Centers of Influence and continues to build their COI’s by networking with wedding planners, fraternities, grad school programs, hospitality providers and special event coordinators.  They are also always looking for their next “lead” that could open another door for Alton Lane to provide amazing service and quality made to measure clothing. Once an opportunity is won, the Business Development Manager will continue to retain the client with a focus on deepening the relationship. 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business relationships that will lead to generating revenue
  • 80-90% of your time will be spent out in the field generating business by meeting with prospects, outside calling, attending networking functions, and community events
  • Work closely with Centers of Influence (COI) to include event coordinators, POCs at higher education institutions and various businesses to assist in driving new business.
  • Has a well-defined marketing strategy that will target his/her respected goals
  • Effectively onboard business generating prospects and grow existing business relationships
  • Understand and carry out senior management’s sales objective(s)
  • Partner with multiple internal departments at Alton Lane including but not limited to our Marketing, Operations & Facilities, Customer Experience and Showroom Directors in each of our locations to help cross-sell Alton Lane’s garments and deepen new and existing relationships
  • Stay current with national, regional, and local industry trends

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of direct sales experience
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with customers and prospects
  • Strong Center of Influence (COI) network – required
  • Experience with analyzing reports to identify key area of sales opportunities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong prospecting and sales skills
  • Must be able to travel at least 75% of the year
  • Bachelor’s Degree
