Accounts Payable Specialist

Role & Responsibilities

The A/P Specialist will perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify invoices
  • Sort, code and match invoices 
  • Set invoices up for payment
  • Enter and upload invoices into QuickBooks accounting system
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Maintain vendor files
  • Respond to vendor inquiries as needed
  • Assisting in monthly closings including journal entries 
  • Calculate and manage staff commissions 
  • Account reconciliations 

Education and Experience:

  • Experience with accounts payable and general accounting procedures
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software
  • Proficient in data entry and management
  • Accounting degree or qualified experience required 

Compensation and Hours:

  • Part-time position, approximately 20 hours/week; potential for growth and full time
  • Up to $15/hour, depending on experience
